WHAT I DO

MUSICIAN, DESIGNER, & CREATIVE OPERATIONS STRATEGIST

Turning story, systems, and relationships into measurable growth.

I build clarity, systems, trust, and momentum across 30+ years of communication design, music, consulting, nonprofit leadership, marketing, operations, and AI-enabled workflow.

I believe life is UX. Business meetings, songwriting, conversations, and executive reports all create an experience. Understanding needs, identifying friction, and communicating effectively are what help move things forward.

While my path has not been a straight line, it has always had a clear thread. Music, design, development, and operations all depend on building trust, working with integrity, thinking critically, and solving problems in complex environments.

A degree in Communication Design, with a focus on graphic design and advertising, gave me the foundation: design principles, clear visual communication, and concept-driven strategy. An unexpected dive into the music business kept building on that foundation. Songwriting, touring, and producing taught discipline, collaboration, adaptability, audience connection, and a keen business sense.

That clear thread has been woven through very different work: strengthening a nonprofit through operating systems, partnerships, marketing, and public communication; organizing complex, high-volume project communications into stakeholder-ready reports; building a self-directed music career across songwriting, touring, production, and artist development; creating foundational systems for a music-publishing startup; designing visual communication across corporate, music, nonprofit, entertainment, and small-business environments; and interviewing employees and contractors to identify pain points, communication gaps, operational friction, and opportunities for efficiency.

I’m drawn to work without a ceiling: roles, consulting projects, collaborations, and music opportunities that make room for creative contribution, meaningful incentives, and the ability to help people, teams, and organizations grow.

SONGWRITING

A strong song has to sound honest coming from the person singing it. I work with artists and writers to uncover the clearest version of an idea, strengthen what is already working, and solve the parts that are keeping a song from feeling complete.

That might mean starting with a title or concept, reshaping a lyric, finding a stronger melody, refining the structure, developing a hook, or helping an unfinished song finally reach the finish line. My approach is collaborative, direct, and always centered on protecting the artist’s voice rather than forcing the song into a formula.

Over more than 30 years in music, I have written and collaborated on songs released in the United States, Canada, and Australia, including a No. 1 Australian country-radio single. My work has also appeared across television, sports, youth media, advertising, and retail platforms. My experience includes a major-label recording contract with Lava/Atlantic Records and a publishing deal with Old Bank Music.

PRODUCTION

I work with artists to turn strong songs into finished recordings while protecting the character, emotion, and identity that made the song worth recording in the first place.

Whether you need full production, arrangement development, instrumentation, vocal production, editing, mixing, or help shaping the overall direction, the process begins with understanding what the song needs and what you want it to become.

Every project is different, so the scope, instrumentation, and budget are built around the song rather than forcing every artist into the same package.

• ARRANGEMENT & INSTRUMENTATION

• VOCAL PRODUCTION & PERFORMANCE DIRECTION

• EDITING, MIXING, & MASTERING

DESIGN

With over three decades of experience across music and design, my career has shaped how I think about audience engagement, brand building, storytelling, and visual communication. A degree in Graphic Design and Advertising provided the foundation to identify needs, develop ideas, and create solutions to complex communication challenges.

In-house and freelance projects have spanned corporate, music, hospitality, nonprofit, publishing, entertainment, and small-business environments, using user-experience-focused thinking to connect messaging, design, and audience needs.

That work includes logos and brand identity systems, album and single artwork, music packaging, posters, promotional materials, merchandise, social media graphics, marketing collateral, and advertising for national recording artists, independent musicians, music publishers, restaurants, hospitality groups, nonprofits, small businesses, and corporate clients.

TESTIMONIALS

Alex Seier Photo - Suit
Working with Alex was both productive and a pleasure. Alex has an extremely creative mind but also a “big-picture” view when it comes to the business of music. I have recommended his talents to many clients and the results are always beyond positive.
— Chris B.
To say Alex is a pleasure to work with is a huge understatement. He is indeed a pleasure, but he also has a remarkable ability to make you think more broadly, challenge your ideas, and ultimately build something better than you might have imagined on your own. He asks the questions that make you step back, see things more holistically, and think more creatively. And in many ways, I think that’s Alex’s superpower: he doesn’t just bring his own creativity to the table. Somehow, by working with him, you walk away feeling like you have more of your own.”
— Annie I.
Alex is incredibly knowledgeable about all facets of music, ridiculously talented and one of my favorite people to work with!
